It all started when Kentucky met Texas...
E. B. Nygard and C. H. Nygard reside in Louisville, Kentucky with their daughter, Wilhelmine, and a house full of animals. The Nygards have combined experience in educational leadership both in the classroom and in nonprofit settings in their community, and are currently pursuing PhDs in Education and Social Change at Bellarmine University—exploring the intersection of play and creative writing and the impact of naturalistic exploration on young learners. They are members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and enjoy writing children's literature layered with significant messages—accompanied by verse, rhythm, and child-like illustrations with a folk art flair. They are acoustic Americana musicians and find writing with rhyme and syncopation natural, inspirational, and memorable--especially for young children.
Together, their music stands with one foot firmly planted in tradition, and the other stomping a beat to their own drum. From songs of love lost and love won to the sacred harmonies of hymns, their original compositions and adaptations of old time tunes will catch your ear from the first notes.
